The last I heard Mervyn say, when I overheard him in conversation to someone at the site, was that he, ‘Wanted the best’, and that he ‘was getting it’. That really summed up his time and huge effort at the site, didn’t it? It was only a couple of days later that he died.

I don’t walk past his plots to the water trough without thinking of that.
